With his upcoming song “Honey Bun,” Quavo hopes to continue honoring his former Migos bandmate, whom he first paid tribute to at the 2023 Grammy Awards with the melancholy single “Without You.”
The image of Quavo standing in front of a jeep at what appears to be a music video shoot was teased on Instagram this past Monday, March 27. The short caption “Honey Bun” with the honey emoji, the suggested release date “Friday,” and the hashtag “ForTake” were all present on the black and white picture. “On Tuesday (March 28), Quavo shared the single art for the song, which featured an aerial view of several black SUVs parked in the shape of an “H.”
Icewear Vezzo and a verse from Takeoff who has since passed away are featured in some new music that Quavo’s estranged cousin Offset teased last week. Fans were thrilled to hear Takeoff rap for the first time since Migos star A$AP Rocky passed away last November on the Metro Boomin’ hit song “Feel The Fiyaah” a few months ago.
Recently, Quavo released a song called “Greatness” in which he discussed the Migos’ legacy and even dispelled rumors of a potential reunion. Don’t inquire about the group; “Don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n-gga it can’t come back, damn!” yelled Quavo, referencing Takeoff’s passing as the cause for the absence of the group.
In the autumn of last year, Takeoff and Quavo released their album Only Built For Infinity Links. The twosome demonstrated their natural chemistry on the project and skated their way into a top ten debut on the Billboard 200, earning praise for it. With YoungBoy Never Broke Again, they released singles of their Hot 100 hits “Hotel Lobby” and “To The Bone.”.
